DESCRIPTION:The Artists' Gallery invites the community to share an exhilarating evening at our First Friday artist's reception on September 1st\, from 5-8 p.m. This very popular monthly event prominently features the work of three of our exceptionally talented artists. Award-winning multi-media artist Sharon Conner and her daughter\, painter Kari Jacobs\, are joining forces to present an exhibit they've entitled\, Symbiosis. The duo will demonstrate that two dissimilar artists can create together in symbiotic\, or mutually beneficial\, relationship. Sharon and Kari both share a love of color and creativity\, with decidedly different styles. They will be introducing artwork using a new technique in acrylic painting\, called "dirty pouring". Additionally\, Sharon will feature new work based on cooperation with two of the gallery's photographers another exploration in symbiosis! Accomplished jewelry artist\, Virginia Ames\, is showcasing her exquisitely-crafted beaded jewelry. Virginia acknowledges\, "I started beading because I was trying to quit smoking it worked!" That diversion became her great passion\, which she has pursued for 22 years. Virginia creates her characteristic vintage-look and contemporary statement pieces\, using needle and thread\, incorporating unusual and "found objects" with her stunningly intricate bead work. She also enjoys the challenge of re-fashioning treasured jewelry pieces and watches into custom one-of-a-kind wearable art! Please join us to recognize these artists\, view their new work\, and enjoy a great evening in celebration of the arts! Complimentary refreshments are served by our member-artists\, while guests mingle and enjoy live guitar music performed by Dave Bokel. Guests will have the opportunity to receive a 20% discount on all purchases of the three Featured Artist's artwork during First Friday only.
