DESCRIPTION:Ring in the Holidays at The Artists' Gallery on First Friday! Ring in the holidays at The Artists' Gallery on "First Friday"\, Dec. 7th\, from 5 to 8 p.m. Our beautifully-decorated window displays\, professionally designed by artist\, Diana Werthman\, beckon guests inside the festive gallery for a celebration of the season! Gather with your friends and family to spend an evening surrounded by a flurry of artistic energy\, delicious refreshments\, and live entertainment provided by guitarist\, Tom Gudding\, along with Johnny Skylark Skrivan on the didgeridoo! As the Featured Artists for December\, we are delighted to present the 3rd annual "School Art Show"\, displaying the creative talents of budding student artists\, grades K-8\, from Ca on City and Pueblo West schools. The students have created works of art in a variety of media\, both 2 and 3 dimensional\, and many will be in attendance to proudly represent their work. Please join us in congratulating and encouraging the students and their art teachers\, who have worked so hard on this impressive exhibit! Participating schools and their art teachers are: Harrison Middle School - Heidi Hubinger\; Canon City Middle School - Andy Vetter\; Pueblo West Middle School - Konnie Chace\; McKinley Elementary School - Suzanne Cooper\; Harrison Elementary School - Suzanne Cooper\; Mountain View Core Knowledge School - Meg Olsen\; and Canon Exploratory School - Terri Wrona. Kudos to our schools for preserving art in their curriculum! Open daily\, The Artists' Gallery's "Holiday Boutique"\, is currently brimming with quality\, affordable\, one-of-a-kind gift items. We invite guests to linger over hot spiced cider and cookies\, leisurely browse for inspiration\, and be refreshed in the respite of our lovely gallery! Shop locally and "small" for your holiday gift-giving\, strengthening community and local commerce! The gallery will remain open during Canon City's Downtown Christmas Parade on Saturday\, Dec. 1st\, which starts at 6 p.m.\, providing complimentary refreshments and limited seating for viewing the festivities. Additionally\, we will stay open until 7 p.m. on all Saturdays in December.
