First Friday Artist's Reception

Ring in the Holiday Season on First Friday! The Artists’ Gallery invites you to ring in the holidays on “First Friday”, Dec. 1st, from 5 to 8 p.m. Our beautifully-decorated window displays, in the theme of “Fire and Ice”, beckon guests inside the festive gallery for a celebration of the season! Gather with your friends and families to spend an evening with us, surrounded by a flurry of creative energy, delicious refreshments, and holiday music. Throughout the month of December, we are delighted to present the 2nd annual “School Art Show”, displaying the creative talents of budding student artists, grades K-8, from Cañon City and Pueblo West schools. Join us in congratulating, supporting and encouraging our local students and their art teachers, who have worked so hard on this exhibit—you will be very impressed! Art matters! Participating art teachers and their schools are: Heidi Hubinger, grades 6-8, Harrison; Andrew Vetter, grades 6-8, Cañon City Middle School; Konnie Chace, grades K-8, Liberty Point International School, Pueblo West; Meg Olsen, grades K-8, Mountain View Core Knowledge School; Terri Wrona, K-8, Cañon Exploratory School; Michelle Taylor, K-5, Lincoln School of Science and Technology and Washington Elementary; Suzanne Cooper, K-5, Harrison and McKinley Elementary. Kudos to our schools for preserving art in their curriculum! “Small Business Saturday” is nationally celebrated this Saturday, Nov. 25th. We encourage you to “Shop Small”, and browse our “Holiday Boutique”, brimming with quality, affordable, one-of-a-kind gift items. Several of our artists will be available to assist with your selection of original art—jewelry, photography, paintings, art glass, pottery, sculpture, and much more—for that special gift. Shop, linger over hot spiced cider and cookies, and refresh yourself in the respite of our lovely gallery! Complimentary gift wrapping will be available. This is a great opportunity to shop locally for your holiday gift-giving, strengthening community and local commerce, while supporting the arts in Southern Colorado!
